I’m a recovering parliamentary official. I've spent 15 years on the front lines of parliamentary research, committees, and public engagement in the UK and internationally.

But I've also had a 'shadow career' in international parliamentary work for nine years. I've worked with parliaments and MPs in Fiji, Laos, Bhutan, Ukraine, Chile, Malaysia, The Gambia, and Egypt, among others.

Now, my side hustles are becoming my main gig. I’m taking on two main roles (and other fun projects when I have time!):

  • Chief Technical Advisor for Global Partners Governance (GPG), an organisation that works to improve the quality and effectiveness of political institutions worldwide. It takes a unique approach, prioritising people over process, and individuals over institutions.

  • Senior Gender Advisor for INTER PARES, an EU-funded parliamentary strengthening project that shares experiences between EU parliaments and legislatures worldwide.

  • A third one goes here INTER PARES, an EU-funded parliamentary strengthening project that shares experiences between EU parliaments and legislatures worldwide.

My approach

I know what everyday parliamentary work feels like. I also know that the best ideas for strengthening institutions usually come from the people already within them.

That’s why my approach is people-centred, respectful, creative, and collaborative. I work with parliamentary leaders to design solutions that are practical, politically viable, and sustainable.

To paraphrase GPG’s founder Greg Power, it’s about “institution building from the inside, rather than the outside”.
